The New 2020 Mazda CX-30: A Fantastic First

The first-ever Mazda CX-30 is a new crossover SUV positioned between the compact and subcompact classes, and it has the capabilities and features of higher-level vehicles. Three exciting trims comprise the 2020 model line. 

The exterior of the CX-30 is one of the most styled vehicles in either the compact or subcompact classes, and all trims include many standard and functional features. The GX includes: 16-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights and daytime running lights: LED rear combination tail lights: automatic-off headlights, body-coloured power exterior mirrors with integrated turn signal lights, body-coloured exterior door handles, rear spoiler, and more.

The GS adds: 18-inch alloy wheels, heated exterior mirrors, automatic on/off headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and more. When you want the ultimate in exterior equipment, the GT includes: advanced keyless entry (proximity and ignition), a frameless rearview mirror with auto-dimming, and the HomeLink wireless control system. 

The 2020 Mazda CX-30 is equipped with two engine options

The GX model includes a 2.0L four-cylinder powerplant that develops 155 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm. The GS and GT are equipped with a 2.5L four-cylinder engine that produces 186 horsepower along with 186 lb-ft of torque. The 2.0L achieves a highway fuel consumption rating of 7.1/7.7 (FWD/AWD), and the 2.5L attains the same result. Both engines match to a six-speed automatic transmission. The GX and GS are available with AWD drive, and it is standard on the GT. 

The CX-30 is optimized for handling and agility. All trims receive an independent front suspension complete with MacPherson struts, coil springs, and a stabilizer bar. The rear suspension includes a torsion beam. 

The 2020 Mazda CX-30 offers many interior amenities

The GX includes: heated front seats (three settings), an 8.8”-wide colour display with Mazda Connect, HMI Commander switch, Mazda Harmonic Acoustics with 8-speakers, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, two USB ports, rear heater ducts, Push Button Start, keyless entry, and more.

The premium GS bring a lot more to the table by adding a suite of safety and security technologies, including: Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go function, Smart City Brake Support, Smart Brake Support, Pedestrian Detection (forward sensing), and more. The GT’s interior infuses with leather trim, chrome accents, and more.
